The Messages page shows all your AI-generated outreach organized into three tabs: Drafts, Scheduled, and Sent.
How AI Drafting Works
When you generate messages for a lead, Starlight's AI:
1. Researches the prospect — searches the web for their background, company news, and recent activity
2. Reads your AI settings — uses your product description, ICP, and voice tone preferences
3. Drafts a personalized message — writes outreach that connects your offering to their specific situation
Tip
Reviewing Drafts
Each draft appears in the Drafts tab for your review. You can:
- Edit the subject line and body before sending
- Approve to move it to the Scheduled tab
- Reject to discard it
- Pin important leads for priority review
Template Variables
Messages can include variables that are replaced at send time:

Scheduled Sending
Approved messages are automatically scheduled during optimal business hours:
- Tuesday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Monday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Weekends: No sends
All times are in Eastern Time by default. Messages are staggered so they don't all land at the same moment.
Multi-Channel Support
Messages can be sent via email or LinkedIn, depending on the sequence step type. Email messages require a connected Gmail or Outlook account.
