Signals
AI-tracked buying signals — funding, hiring, job changes, news — with outreach drafted for you.
Signals watches the companies in your pipeline for buying signals — fundraising, hiring surges, job changes, product launches, and other timing events — so your outreach lands when a prospect actually has a reason to talk. Star sets tracking up on your behalf: it picks the companies most worth watching from your Contacts and Companies, scans each one weekly, and turns what it finds into ready-to-review outreach.
What gets detected
- Company news — funding rounds, product launches, partnerships, awards, expansion, cost cutting, legal issues, security incidents, and M&A, each with a source link
- Hiring — open-role surges and fast-growing departments, from live job postings
- People moves — a contact changed companies (the warmest possible door) or got promoted
- Discovered companies — net-new companies matching your ICP with a fresh trigger, found by weekly discovery sweeps
The feed
Each signal is a card: what happened, the source, the company, and a linked contact when the signal is about a person. From a card you can Draft with AI (write outreach that opens with the event), view the drafts it produced, or dismiss it. Discovered companies get a Find contacts action that pre-fills a people search. New signals also appear on Tasks and as notifications.
Tracking
The Tracking tab lists every watched company — who added it (Star or you), when it was last scanned, and what it has produced. Star adds companies automatically as your CRM grows (up to your tracking limit, 25 by default); you can track any company yourself, pause one, or remove it. Paused and removed companies keep their signal history.
From signal to outreach
With Auto-draft on (the default), a fired signal drafts personalized messages for the best contacts at that company. The signal is passed to the writer as sourced research, every draft is quality-judged, and everything lands in Messages as pending review — nothing sends without you.
Autopilot is different, and off by default: when you enable it in Signal settings, signal drafts that pass the quality check are approved and sent without your review. Only turn it on if you want that.
Setup context
During onboarding's website scan, Starlight also learns your competitors and what events make a prospect ready to buy from you — that context steers which signals are surfaced as relevant rather than noise. You can refine your product and ICP anytime in Settings.
